Elegant PJ 56 easy chair designed by Grete Jalk for Poul Jeppesen in Denmark in the 1950s. This example is a particularly appealing and uncommon version in oak. With the warm natural grain of the timber giving the design a softer and more understated character than the more frequently encountered teak and rosewood examples. The chair has been fitted with new cushions upholstered in a superb-quality green textile by Danish Art Weaving. The rich green fabric creates a beautiful contrast with the warm oak and complements the chair's simple, organic lines. The chair retains its original Poul Jeppesen maker's stamp and Danish Furniture Control mark underneath.
