Set of four early CH24 Wishbone chairs designed by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Søn in Denmark. Designed in 1949 and introduced into production in 1950, the CH24 became one of the defining designs of Danish modernism, combining a sculptural frame with Wegner’s characteristic Y-shaped backrest and hand-woven paper-cord seat.
This particularly attractive set was made in 1964 and retains its original coral-red painted finish, with a beautifully aged patina and natural traces of use. The chairs retain their early manufacturer’s burnstamps and Danish Furniture Control stickers, adding to their period character. All joints have been inspected and are strong. The seats have been newly rewoven in our atelier using traditional Danish paper cord.
