et of four J39 dining chairs designed by Børge Mogensen for FDB Møbler in 1947. Often referred to as the “People’s Chair”, the J39 exemplifies Mogensen’s vision of creating well-designed, functional furniture for everyday use. Its simple construction, honest materials and timeless proportions became characteristic of the Danish cooperative furniture tradition.
This set was produced in 1970 and is crafted in solid oak, now showing a rich, naturally developed patina. In good vintage condition. The seats have been newly woven in our atelier using traditional Danish paper cord, carefully respecting the original character of the chairs.
