Pair of vintage Hans J. Wegner CH37 armchairs, produced by Carl Hansen & Søn in 1979. Designed in 1962, the CH37 is the armchair counterpart to Wegner’s celebrated CH36 dining chair. Both models reflect Wegner’s admiration for traditional American Shaker furniture, particularly its honest construction, simplicity and emphasis on function.
These examples are crafted in solid oak with an original oil finish and retain their original Carl Hansen & Søn labels and production stamps dating them to 1979. The seats have been newly woven in traditional Danish paper cord, making the chairs ready for everyday use while preserving their authentic character.
